This weekend we hosted an ugly Christmas sweater party at our house with a few of our closest friends and their kids.
I found a bunch of fun stuff for the kids at Michaels. If you’re having a party, go there. All of their Christmas stuff is already on clearance. That’s where I found the kits for these cute Santa ornaments. I thought it would be fun for the little ones to make and take home…Image may be NSFW.

Then I made the rookie mistake of giving them their candy and toy filled stockings at the same time. So, the parents glued the Santas and the kids stuffed their faces.
And yes, I did give 4 small children whistles. Because…YOLO.

My favorite part by far, was my fancy photo booth! I’m so trendy and I don’t even care! For the backdrop I used a couple garlands I found on clearance at Michaels and some red yard.

You may recall, I recently got a new DSLR for my birthday a few weeks ago and in true Kari fashion…I have no idea what I’m doing or how to use it. So for now I stick to auto mode. One thing I do know, is that using a flash is frowned upon, so lighting for the photo booth was a little tricky. But, I am nothing if not resourceful. Insert some spot lights borrowed from my dad and an old ladder for a tripod and I had the most glamorous photo booth set-up in town. Ha! I wish I had gotten some behind the scenes shots. My friends were so great to humor me and my madness.
